We will be filling the canals MID APRIL. Please make sure your ditches are clean and repaired before the irrigation season starts. Remember to always order the water before turning on your irrigation system. Never dump grass or other foreign material into canals or on the Right of Way; it can cause damage to the system or return to the river and cause pollution. Also, make sure your livestock doesn’t damage canal banks.
You must call your ditch rider 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE of turning ON or OFF your water. Only use the amount of water you’re entitled to. Only the ditch riders are allowed to put in or take out checks. Please work out a schedule with the others you share a ditch with.

The 16 FOOT EASEMENT must be left clear on BOTH sides of the canal for equipment to be able to maintain the canals. The District will not be responsible for items such as trees, flowers, lawns, pipes, pivots stop, or any type of structures on the easement. There can be no physical change on the canal OR canal banks without written permission from New Sweden Irrigation. The manager and/or the Board of Directors must approve all pump installations, changes in size of pump, or location of pump.
If you paid only half of your assessment by December 20th , the second half is due by June 20th . Delinquent patrons are not eligible to receive water. If you are delinquent call the office to get the correct amount owed. (there will be penalty & interest charges) We are accepting credit/debit card payments with a 4% fee on total dollars ran.

Due to the assumed shortages of water this year, ordering water is critical & STEALING WATER FINES WILL BE ASSESSED. Repeat offenders will be required to install metered pumps, at their cost, that meet the district’s approval.
We will be charging Time and Material fines for removal of TRASH & debris thrown in the canal. In addition to these fines being enforced, State Statute 43-327 will be enforced. It pertains to SHUTTING OFF or not delivering water for lands where assessments or CHARGES are unpaid for 90 days after delinquency. All assessment + interest must be paid in full before water is delivered.
